no. I just gotta clean out the yard. I'm SURE if the city gets involved, they will just show up with flatbeds, and send me a bill.

the lady who turned me in last time is again trying to sell her house... and I've got junk in my parking area... and the number of cars is too high. and they are just too much for me to handle. I will just take them to the scrap yard... but they are only paying 1/2 or less... really a shame to crush these nice cars.

I can sympathize. Guy one street over, same deal. And he is asking at least 30 percent over market for his property... in a flat market.

When he put it up for sale last year he complained to his councilor on my friend across the street, who repairs small engines as a sideline in his retirement and is the sort of guy who has, err, stuff in the backyard. He is back-to-back neighbor with this guy. There is a wooden fence and a thick, 8-foot tall cedar hedge blocking the view between the yards. My buddy caught Mr. Clean on a ladder, taking pics of his backyard over the hedge. That was how it started.

Three bylaw officers show up with a video camera. His sideline is shut down immediately and they make all kinds of threats. Lots of stuff got sent away. Luckily his brother has a storage barn.

He isn't an educated guy, took me several tries to calm him down and talk some reason after they left. The bylaw dicks made all sorts of innuendo threats on what could happen to him. He doesn't know better so he believes that stuff.

It made my blood curdle when he told me. If I had known what was happening I would have gone over and hit record on my phone. They were way out of line, as in call in the media and a lawyer out of line (I did manage to convince him to see a lawyer about it).

Typical "can't pass the psych screening in police recruitment, become a professional ***hole bylaw enforcer instead" types. Here in Quebec it's a recognized personality type in minor officials.

Now the complainer cruises the streets, looking for anything. My neighbours warned me he was checking out my driveway last fall and one day when I was working on my wagon he kept driving by, then actually stopped, backed up then forward to have a better look at the parts car way back in the drive. Luckily my junk pile is hidden from view behind a privacy fence, so he would have to trespass to see it.

Apparently sometimes he drives with a video camera stuck out the window... I am hoping to catch him doing that, get a snapshot, write out a complaint, then have the local police lay a traffic charge. He who lives by the sword....
