Do you have a gage? If not the Harbor Freight gage is a good deal for cheap. I doubt it's calibrated to NIST standards but plenty good enough for the average Joe (or Jane). It comes with fittings, hose, etc.

I found the door pocket is a great place to shove a gauge temprorarily. Sure beats trying to get duct tape residue off.

When new the 1982+ w123 300D 0-60 was around 14 seconds. Anything under that requires modifications. I have turned off signatures here so I cannot be sure what model of 300D he has- but it looks like others have pointed out it's a w124 perhaps.

besides fresh filters and new tires I did the following; Rebuilt the injectors with Monarks, removed the EGR, disconnected the vac from that throttle thing and wired it full open, removed the ALDA . I also remove and replaced all the vac lines. I ran LubroMoly twice thru the pump and run Diesel KLeen cetane boost.
