cold air intake

I was thinking about this the other day. Has anyone messed around with changing the intake on an 83 300SD. It seems feasible to me from a physical standpoitn. Mechanincally I'm not sure if it would work though. just thorugh some ideas out there.

Replaced air cleaner mounting brackets and heat shields
Replaced alternator, fan and power steering belts
Replaced positive battery terminal
Replaced negative battery terminal and cord
New Duralast Battery

My car needs work.
