w124 sunroof drain hose size

My brothers 87 300TD was getting water puddling in the front passenger footwell. With a garden hose and a little sleuthing, we discovered that the bottom of the front right sunroof drain hose has pulled out of the drain port just front of the passenger door. The sunroof water now empties directly into the foot well, and the drain port down by the door now allows water from the door/windshield/fender union area to get into the car.

After getting the glovebox out, disconnecting the right hand vent hose, and fishing around with my hand, I found the end of the hose and tried to pull it down enough to stick it out the drain port, but the hose appears to have shrunk in length. It just gets as far as the hole, but I think it needs another 2" to stick out beyond the drain port like it's supposed to.

Here's my question: does anyone have the inner and outer dimensions of that hose? I can't get in there to measure it. I'd like to research options for slipping a soft connector over the end of that hose and perhaps into a new short length of hose the same size as the original so that it can fit out the drain port snugly creating a good seal. I'm hoping to do it in a way that doesn't create so much slack that there is a dip or trap created in the process.

On second thought, I suppose first I should ask if there's supposed to be a rubber boot or fitting that sticks in the drain port that the hose fits into?
