w116 MB-tex Sunburn

Own a 1979 300sd and wondering how to get rid of the sunburn on my door panels. It is a Bamboo color on the doors and each time I wipe with cleaning agents a dark orange color rubs off. almost looks like Oxidation

What are the best cleaners for removing this buildup without damaging the door colors..

what "agents" are you using to "rub" or "wipe"?

If your panels are burnt at the top from UV exposure, that won't come out. The material is damaged. I had to replace all the door panels and some other trim as well on my wagon, which came from OK/TX and had serious sun exposure damage.

I also wonder if someone previously restored the trim using a spray-on colour product and that is what is wiping off. If those are applied without using a bonding promotion agent (sort of primer) first, they can wipe off later when strong cleaner is used.
