I got the. Engine cleaned and painted, ready to go in the car as soon as the bad engine is out. Hopefully the weather will cooperate next week, and I can get the job done.

One per post? You must be using a swipy thing then...

...good to see in the last picture it is already marking its territory!

(And you really need to find a nice metal oil filler cap)

The oil spot was there from replacing the oil filter stand gasket. I removed everything down to the bare block to replace all the gaskets and seals, and to paint it. Also, the site will only allow one photo per post when using my ipad. If I use my laptop, I can post as many as I want. It is a hassle to get the photos from my ipad to my laptop (older Mac).

Old and new

Thanks to my friend Blue Nelson for the fine restoration work on the car. He did everything but the painting and engine work. Here is a photo comparing the engine bay Of the donor SD, and the finished product:
