I got a 2015 ML 250 as a loaner while my 07 ML CDI was getting a brake job and got to drive it over the weekend. I put about 200 miles on it and probably half highway. One hiway 40 mile run I got 37 mpg.
I have been wanting to try that 4 banger diesel since it came out and I must say I was impressed all around. The power was impressive in a 4500 lb ML.
I think it puts out 205 hp with a lot of low end torque. What's the HP on a 123- 240D, like 55 HP? It's amazing the improvements over time.
I must say though that my 07 ML CDI six cylinder even with 220K miles is still a bit faster, but just by a fraction.
Another good thing is that it has a spare tire and no run flats. The urea tank location was finally solved, I guess.
I think this engine is offered in the a few models now.
I recall reading a thread here about the GLK 250 which was favorable.
When my ML dies I would buy a star marked ML 250 ( with extended warranties!).

Under 50K not a bad deal... Off lease models should be mid 30s... I may keep my eyes open...
