Who Blanking knew

Staying in Rosarito Baja for a languishing Summer and who knew of all places to have such a concentration of W123's and some W126's as a matter of fact i just saw a cool Anthracite coloured one drive by in front of my house , anyone else has seen a disparaging amount of the cars we love in in unsuspecting places ?

I am on the FB group for the "not Uncle Olaf" persuasion of Volvo drivers in Sweden (think Volvo diesel wagons with a stack poking out of the hood). In most of the driveway photos there is an American pickup truck sitting beside the Volvo.

F-150s seem to be very popular over there.

Swedes love big displacement foreign iron. And the styling. Some of the old Volvos took their styling cues from American cars (notably Studebaker).

Now that right there is funny.

The American hipsters are trying to get their fill of Swedish style at IKEA, and the Swedes want old American styled cars.

I was surprised by the number of Swedes that speak accent free American English.

In the old days Europeans spoke English with a British accent (kinda cute). Since American TV took over the world they all sound like us.

Yup, thats why its our favorite place in Europe to go back to. I don't speak a word of Swedish and I get along just fine. The car culture there is amazing and I always manage to come back with more than a few rare Volvo bits.
