Defrost Vacuum module

1985 300TD. Which vacuum module is the specific one for the defroster? I know there are 5 and I think I have narrowed it down to either the one to left of and behind the glove box or the one above and to the right of the driver footwell next to the center console.

Thanks
John

If your 1985 300TD is the same as my 1985 300CD in this regard, then the vacuum element for controlling the defroster nozzle flaps is located "...above and to the right of the driver footwell next to the center console."

See the attached images, specifically component 38.

I would advise using extra care when disengaging the rod of the vacuum element from the plastic hook that snaps into said rod. That plastic at the hook becomes brittle over time and can be prone to breaking.
