606 N/A vacuum line ID help
My 1996 210 606 has been having a recurring code P0200 for too long now and it is time to get down and find the problem.
Attached is a photo of the TPS area. Question; does the black vacuum line attach to the L-shaped rubber attachment on the transmission vacuum controller? Thanks for your time and input. |

No, those two lines don't connect. Both those lines are vents and are intended to "terminate" in air—they allow air back in when a vacuum valve opens (closes?). In some MBZ models these lines are continued into the passenger cabin, where the air is supposedly cleaner. Apparently the W210 designers decided that air in between the two firewalls was "clean enough." For myself, I put little filters on those lines, just in case.
