How to change a fuel filter on a 60X engine without making a mess
1 Attachment(s)
I place a ziplock bag around the filter before removing it, and all the spilled fuel is contained inside the bag.

Great idea, I've changed hundred of those and never thought to do that. Usually did an engine wash with the service.

Clever.

I'll try this next time. I usually park uphill, and use Walmart bag around the belt to prevent diesel from contaminating it. Then I degrease the area.
This is much easier though. |
It is also best to use a new bag when putting on the new filter.

I just remove the top bolt suck out at least half and remove. To install I install dry then wedge a door stopper under the filter line up the bolt but I put a funnel into the bolt hole and fill the filter. I rarely spill anything a rag won't catch.
