617 engine/tranny weight

Anyone out there have a figure for the combined weight of an auto tranny and turbo 617?

The engine is about 585...not positive on the tranny but maybe 70#?

Those auto trans are heavy. 100lbs or more.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

I think the above weights are about right - I'd take Charlie's estimate on the trans weight (those suckers are heavy). So 685 lbs. and maybe add some for accessories (AC pump, for example) and 700 is a good guess. Mine is stripped (only has an alternator and starter) and has a manual trans so my weights won't help.

I recently put a 722.303 trans on a scale. It weighed in at 143 lbs.

Oh, that weight included the torque converter and flex disk.

It's really no big deal for me about the questioning of the weight. Tom's a good guy. I was rolling with the being bold part.

Not surprising, having loaded one into a trunk. Porky little devils.

So we're up around 750ish for the assembled system (engine/trans/converter/flywheel).
