w124 Diesel Compressor Help
Hi, I need some help before I return a Denso compressor 471-1228. I was told it is compatible with 1987 300D, but the hose block connector is not the same, the original compressor block has 4 connectors and this new compressor will not match the holes. Is there an adapter I need to buy?, or is it just not compatible with what I have?. I have some pictures of my original compressor and block, and the new compressor.
I have search for any clues about this issue but got nothing. Thank you. |

That's not going to work and I've never heard of an adapter.

i think early 603's came with denso 10P15C compressors. starting sometime in 87 i'm guessing they were updated to the 10PA15C which uses the more common square sealing top manifold instead of the individual o rings. see if your parts store lists a different part number for the compressor on an 86 300d. the mounting footprint may be different as well on the later 10PA15C or i'd say get the correct manifold at a junkyard or online. but i could be wrong. but definitely make sure all the bolts line up before you buy anything for it!
