Problem idenifying pre-chamber/injection air blow
Hello, I'm having problems with one injector/pre-chamber that blows air..
At first I think it was the injector, so I cleaned it and re install, but when re installing I discovered a hole in the side.. I think it's the pre-chamber or the threaded ring. Can you tell me what do you think? Its a Mercedes 190d 1989 602 engine (Angular injection) Thank you.. |

when you removed the injector, did you replace the crush washer/heat shield?
that's critical for a good seal of the combustion chamber.

looking at the pic... it appears as though your PC has leaked and or burned a passage into the aluminum head.

Hello, thank you for answering!
I did replace the heat shield with new one, and I've found in other forum posts that this is a hole that is used for alignment of the pre-chamber (I dont know if this is true). Some air is blowing through that hole, like air burned.. I'm thinking now in buying a Láser 5472 Spline tool for collar ring removal and tightening again the pre-chamber without removing it.. And see what happens.. But no many ideas.. |

Look through the threads. It might of been Sixto, did a post with pic's showing where to bevel the outer edge of the prechambers where it necks down. I've did it and it works. Some will tell you it needs shimmed, but it works. But, you have to pull the prechamber, and don't forget to pull the glow plug.
