Direct replacement for Becker 612

I've got the original Becker Grand Prix 612 tape deck but the tape function is acting up.

Would like to buy a plug n' play replacement.

Becker or blauounkt from the 80's

Any recommendations on a direct fit without any mods?

Not really interested in modern options.

Would rather go with tape deck from that era.

Couldn't find any reasonably priced 612 units in working condition.

Thx

754, 780, 1480 all drop in just fine.

Just be careful...some of the later decks require codes. The 745 has a trick where it becomes disabled if it thinks it's been stolen, requires a tool to re-enable. Make sure the deck is unlocked if you buy.

Correct, the 1480 requires a code. This is the best W126 standalone HU, but is one year only from what I have seen. 1990.

754/780 do not require a code, but do reset just as you stated if the alarm trips somehow. Just leave that set of plugs disconnected and no worries upon (re)install.
