w116 300sd window switch reversed

1979 300sd (w116)

Bought my second 1979 300sd (w116) last year and inherited a window switch that when depressed to move the window down it actually goes up.

I only have this problem with the drivers side switch, front and rear.
Passenger side switch is OK.

I removed the switch from my other 79 and installed it on the 79 with the problem. It acted the same way. I believe it might be a wiring issue.

Please advise

Wiring. Switch the wires on the hand control if you can. Otherwise you will have to remove the door card and switch the wires there. Also wonder if you have two passenger side switches installed by mistake?

The older style switches used int the w116 can actually be physically reversed. If you unplug it, flip them around, it will work as intended.
