Someone is selling a CDI for $4500.00 on cl
The ad has the wrong year, I already have a black one and I'm looking for a silver one.... Anyway, I figured if someone here is looking for one at what appears to be a very reasonable price, though the miles and condition is not stated in the ad..... here is the link, it was just listed
Mercedes Benz E 320Diesel

An 09 E320 Bluetec 89K miles for $4,500.00 ?
Something's way off on that price. It's true retail value is over 4X that. |

That would still be a smokin' hot deal.
It sounds like a car Engatwork should jump on. |

Not as written.....it reads mil89,000. That's 89,000 miles. The figure you think is a 1, is an l. -As written.

It almost looks like one of those troll/scam ads or weird crime code ads or something.

Odd choice of car for a scam add. You'd think they'd get a lot more hits for a civic or something....

He dropped by and the lady let him remove the car cover and start the car etc. It was like brand new. He also figured it was some form of scam but asked the lady why the price? Was there an error? She told him her husband had run off with his receptionist to Europe. She got a call from him the other day to sell the car and send him the money as they were broke and stranded. So look if you feel the price is too high I might entertain 500 dollars. Also as you did not look in the trunk. I stored a lot of his personal stuff in there as well. In addition if you are low on funds or suspect a scam 10 dollars a month might work as well. .I do want to get some money to my poor stranded husband as soon as possible. |

Ha I have heard that story multiple times, with a Corvette, a Beemer and a Cadillac as well as a custom duallie pickup truck out in TX. Shaggy Dog Story.

Could be from a salvage auction, repaired. Salvage can include insurance company take-backs after unsuccessful repairs (electrical, for example). Or it may well be 189k and deliberately written to confuse.

At one time any electrical issue in car could be solved. Today there are cars out there that have them and they will in all probability never be repaired even with some major effort. I know of two of them in the last couple of years that never got repaired with a lot of effort extended by dealers and the manufacturers. Some intermittent electrical issues in cars are a pure terror. I suspect a lot of recent cars may not make good serviceable used cars as they age if their electrical systems are prone to issues. |

Photo has a cactus in background
Hmmm.... Looks like CA plates, and the cholla "jump'n" cactus and creosote bushes in the photo are desert plants.
Ad map suggests located in Union City, Georgia? Seems fishy but I do like that interior. Quote:
