Should your diesel be in pictures?? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Dieselers -

I'm working on sourcing a few diesels for pictures to accompany an article about diesels in the American market. Particularly, I'm looking for cars as close to immaculate as I can find. The models I am most interested in finding are:

W116 300SD
W126 300SD
W126 300SDL
C123 300CD
T123 300TD

If you have a really nice one, or know of one, and it is anywhere in the area of Washington to Boston, please let me know, either on line or off. If at all possible post or email a picture of your car. If nothing else, we'd all like to see it! I can provide more details about the article as it develops, but can't say much as to the wheres and whens right now.

After my car is repainted and I refinish the wheels it will be perfect

Right now the paint is really dull and the wheels are flaking, but does not look too bad.

Hey! I was looking hard at that '83 300SD before I bought my '85. That car was in AZ, right?

From all the info I got on it, it sounded like a great find. Congrats...hope it was everything you expected.

Yes this is that car! It was actually in much better shape than I had expected - PO took really good care of it as will I - right now I am working on refinishing heat damaged interior parts but nothing has gone wrong mechanically at all!

My 79 300SD is looking pretty darn good, I must say!

I just got some nice shiny chrome used aftermarket wheels that are copies of the factory alloys, except chrome, and they look AWESOME on the car! I'm SO happy!

I'll take some good photos sometime in the next couple of days, and post a couple. Here's a couple of old ones in the meantime.

I have both a W116 and W123 (TD) diesels. Though my TD is in better shape. I am in NJ (Central).

My cars in pretty good shape, I have a few photos I can send later. Ask John "turbodiesel" he can vouch... Any anyone else who was at the first N. Jersey Diesel meet.
