I remember reading Marshall Booth's caution against this every time someone would bring it up. I think his objections were that it didn't do anything significant and that if you needed a purge, something else was wrong. Purge was promoted on one of the repair sites Perhaps Diesel Giant but Marshall would have none of it. Ask Professor Google if you're interested.

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.

After installing the injectors with new nozzles I'll give the nozzles credit for the changes. I've never put anything but quality oil in a crankcase or transmission.
