W115 driveline grind after brand new driveshaft install

Hello all.
Another question from a noob.
I am sorry I failed to search. However I am on a mobile device, and the search function is not at all user friendly for mobile users.

I just Installed this driveshaft, and after a very short drive around the block, I hear this.
Could this be the speedo cable? It is broken for certain.
Or might I have made the driveshaft too long when extending it (these have a slip joint, however they are held to there effective length by a nut rather than beeing allowed to move in and out). And now somehow the trans and the driveshaft are dissagreeing?
Could I have possibly made a mistake when installing the flex discs?
I noticed that the discs where designed to be put in a certain way, and did so accordingly. Even still, could I have messed something up?

I am considering loosening the nut, and taking it for a small drive around the block, so that the driveshaft can find a comfy home. Then tightening the nut back up.

I am crunched for time right now so any quick advice or insight, would be GREATLY appreciated.

Also I did notice the new center support bearing did not turn freely, when it was put of the car.
It was not notchy by any means, however it did require some force to turn, I initially chalked that up to being new and in need of break in.

Also after a quick drive around the block i see that injector 4 is leaking quite badly. I really wish I hadn't just let this car sit for 8 months and decide to fix it when it was time to move.

Sorry for dumping my problems on the forum. I am in a bind at the moment.

if the center bearing is stiff, it could be the source of the noise, they are pretty simple to change.

it sounds to me like something is touching the driveshaft. maybe the ebrake cable or similar...

Spit balling here:

I don't think the speedo cable is the problem. Your center bearing is new so it should be fine.

Check the ebrake balance bar, return spring and cross member. Also, the exhaust may have gotten tweaked if you lowered the transmission at all. Check the rubber hangers on the exhaust.

The floor shifter bolts can hit the shaft if too long. If the front section of the new shaft is a larger diameter than the old one shifter clearance becomes extremely tight.

If you installed a new transmission mount the driveshaft will be closer to the floor. The W115 transmission cross member can be adjusted side to side as well as fore and aft. The shaft may be out of alignment left to right.

Even if everything was fine before a different balance weight position on the new shaft might cause interference.

Once you find the problem you can just roll the car back and forth with the nut loose to settle the shaft. Then tighten. If you've replaced any mounts loosen the engine stop (19mm bolt and nut) on the cross member under the crank pulley and re tighten. This can cause vibration if not adjusted.

The leaking #4 injector could just be the return hose or return hose plug. Most auto parts stores have a rubber replacement line in stock. Cut the metal plug out of your old line. Replace all the return lines. Don't yank them off - gently slit them with a razor bade.

Good luck.

The center bearing is a ball bearing, and as such, should turn without effort; the center support bracket should flop down of its own weight when the shaft is horizontal.
