Transmission filter
I've been looking to buy a new transmission filter/gasket for my 77 240D. However, when I shop for them, they sell them with either no pickup tube, a 1" pickup tube or a 3/4" pickup tube.
Does ANYONE have a clue as to which of those I need? |

Not to be rude but it seems that taking a look at the pickup tube might be practical and most accurate.

There is a few threads on that but that was back in 2008-2009.
On the right side of the transmission is your transmission model number. If you posted that someone that has the same transmission might be able to tell you what filter they use. Not a recommend to buy parts there but diesel giant used to have a pictorial on where to find the transmission number that is above the Pan on the right side. It may not be easy to see as on mine the exhaust pipe blocks easy view.

Diesel911, you've been really helpful with my first ever Mercedes and first ever diesel. Thanks for that.
If anyone has the expertise to tell me what filter to use (and/or what size pickup tube the transmission has) it's a 722.117. |
