oil in compressor before or after vacuum

i have a new compressor and drier that i am going to install into my 82' 240d. I just removed the old compressor and drier and now will be doing a flush of the lines, evap and condenser. Once i hook everything back together, do i want to put oil in the compressor before or after i do a vacuum test? If i do it after, where should i put the oil in?

Are you going to do a nitrogen/134a pressure test first ?

There is no such thing as a vacuum test.

There is a pressure test. There is a system evacuation. The two have nothing to do with each other.

After you have flushed and blown clear all flush chemical, with dry gas such as nitrogen or CO2, you want to oil and assemble the components, then pressure test the system for leaks for 90 minutes. If the system pressure does not drop any after 90 minutes, it is ok to evacuate and then recharge. If it leaks pressure, you need to find and repair the leak and retest.

i was planning on doing a vacuum test by hooking up a vacuum pump to both the high and low pressure sides and making sure it holds vacuum for an hour or so (seems to accomplish same thing as pressure test?)

Just not sure about the steps and oil.
