front window bracket?

My front window bracket seems to have moved. Once the window gets about 2/3 the way up it is binding so I looked at the window mechanism and it looks as though the bracket moved about 3/4 of an inch. So how can I move it back in place without breaking the window?tried to move it with no luck.

Here is the section of the service manual for the doors. (I know it's for a W123 but the location of the adjustment points should be similar.)

Not sure what bracket you're referring to, but the window regulator may have warped. I think that's more common on a rear window than a front. I flattened one by clamping it to a 2x12 scrap with some C-Clamps and tightening them until I got it more-or-less flat. Obviously this requires disconnecting the glass from the regulator and removing the window regulator from the car, which the FSM will help with. It's a good idea to clean and grease everything while it's apart.

Or you might have worn through a slide piece, or it might have slipped out of the track.

You can remove the window regulator from the glass with two bolts, then pick the glass up and tape/clamp it to the top of the door frame. (I use a bit of wide blue tape, then a couple plastic spring loaded clamps). Unfortunately getting to those two bolts usually requires the regulator to work somewhat, even if you have to assist it - the FSM will show you what positions the glass needs to be in to access the bolts.

Thanks guy. I will try to get a picture when I get home to show you what I mean. But it's the peace of metal that is connected directly to the glass. You can see it has moved there is mark as to where it used to be located and it has moved about 3/4 of an inch towards the front of the door.
