Whoa! OP here. This topic took a strange turn. Bringing it back to topic, anyone find a source for NOS struts?

Anyone have a contact at Sachs/ Boge we can contact for a limited production run? These struts are totally sold out everywhere.

Posting a link to a "W123 wagon sls strut rebuild" thread for posterity.

The original instructions from the MBCA forum that is linked and included sans pictures within the above thread is available with pictures on pages 25-34 in the 2013, Vol. 1 issue of the Southwest/ Los Angeles MBCA newsletter here. PLEASE NOTE THE DISCLAIMER in the "W123 wagon sls strut rebuild" link above that one of the o-ring sizes posted in the original instructions by the MBCA forum member and in the Southwest/ Los Angeles MBCA newsletter may be incorrect! I've yet to verify which is accurate but plan to buy both sizes mentioned for the smaller o-ring when I tackle the job. If I remember I will edit this post with my findings when the job is complete.

From "W123 wagon sls strut rebuild":
Quote:

...the writer of this how-to gives the specs of the two o-rings that must be replaced as 4mm X 39mm and 2.5mm X 26mm. he is correct about the size of the larger one. but the smaller of the two should be 3.5mm X 26mm. i ordered both o-rings without measuring the smaller one only to discover the size was wrong.

Someone please tell me what company is price gouging all of us, so I can be sure to never buy anything from them ever again. This type of behavior takes cars off the road that would otherwise be going strong. Or causes people to delete sls altogether, which is a shame as it works pretty well when maintained. It was pretty clear what was going on when I saw the 1900 price tag. My guess is it was the reinvent the wheel people, which is just another reason to avoid them.

^ Not sure what you're referring to/ ranting about?

I'm talking about the fact that someone would buy up all the old stock struts from mercedes and mark them up 300% and list them on ebay for $2,000 per strut. That is an a-hole type move.
