Intake boot rubbing coolant hose 1982 w123/OM 617
The intake boot/ from air filter to turbo-charger is rubbing a small coolant hose underneath it. This is the hose that goes to the aux heat pump. It has a bend in it which is pointed upward. Is this the proper position for the bend? Looks like it should be pointed downward to give more clerance for the intake boot.

I really can't imagine how that is possible without rearranging the Aux pump and hose drastically.
Are you sure you are referring to the correct hose? http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...k-img_5472.jpg |
Thank you for the reply. Yes it is the hose running to the right of the aux heat pump . It cant be seen in your pic but i think thr hose clamb band is shining there.

so, the thin hose that runs perpendicular to the aux pump, then over the alternator and leads to the main coolant pump housing has a bend in it that is hitting the intake tube?
It really sounds like it is a bit longer than typical, but there should be plenty of room there to twist it around into a setting that clears that intake tube. |
Yes thats it. It was always with the bend facing up since forever so i wonder if it needs to hav the bend facing up. It can be turned so the bend faces downward .i just wonder how others see their hose bend positioned.
