Bendix have keepers that are like coat hanger wire. ATE have flat keepers.

LOL, that's about the worst picture Ive ever seen.
You dont even mention what car!! Bendix calipers look like this: Note the cotter pins on the caliper. ATE doesnt have those. Bendix is also cast into the caliper metal.

What I show specifically say Bendix on them. If you dont let your calipers get too dirty, you can see specifically ATE (in a script form) on those calipers.
Some cars are mixed. My 240D is bendix rear, ATE front. My 83 was ATE all around. My 82 has bendix all around.

Mea culpa. I got it exactly backwards. Bendix have the coat hanger wire keepers.
I just fixed the earlier post. My mistake. How could I forget??? As I remember the only other difference is that one accepts a slightly thicker brake pad. |

The Pins are like a nail that is tapped in from one side of the Caliper to the other side to hold the spring down. The picture is of a ATE Caliper. Charlie

Also if the pins do not take cotter pins to keep them in, it is ATE. The split pins that you bend back.
