Can an 1982 240D Mercedes Engine replace a 1983 Mercedes 240 D Engine?
I saw one on EBAY. I am sure th eengine probably fits physically but i am unsure of Fuel Lines and Vacuum Lines and Oil Lines etc.. Does anyone know? Thanks:

Carrameow,
Are both of these engines attached to the same transmission? If they are both automatics or both manuals, it will be straight forward. Regardless, I have all the confidence in the world that you will make it work. You rebuilt one of these engines totally, before, so you have the experience skill to work things out. Good luck, |
Carrameow,
About the only differences, other than possibly the transmissions as Larry noted above, will be the accessories and options each came with or without. The basic engine is the same, and the major features of the cars were too, except the later car came with more standard equipment. Jim |
