Unlock steering from beneath car?

Hello,

I'm using a screwdriver to start my car until parts arrive.
Unlocked steering wheel it is not a problem. Once it got locked, and it
would not turn, but finally, I got it to work.
When this happened at the mechanic, he got under the car for
a minute and did something, he said if it gets truly locked,
you have to go under the car.
I'm trying to be Very careful not to lock it, but if there
is a situation where it gets locked and I cannot use the screwdriver.
Do you know if it's a simple fix under the car?
Thanks
LindaJ

Who know...

Maybe he was meeting someone for a drink...who knows,
I'll just try and be very careful.
Do you know, that on the AutohauzAZ parts site,
for 1984, they don't list the 300D, they have all these
models. But not the obvious model number for the
average joe. Kind of frustrating. I'll have to call tomorrow
and see what my model is.
Pelican have the best prices so far.
Thanks

IF yours is a turbo,

******** is probably calling it the 300DT , the T is for turbo.
There are parts available that you need for this car.

Cheers!
