I'm Baaaaaaack....
Well after trading old stinky, my 79 300D, for my old motorcycle, then having my wrists disagree with the bike, I turned the bike into this.
http://members.aol.com/elripster/Benz It's an 82 300SD. Everything works, interior is sweet, no cracks, etc... runs awesome. I seriously love this car. Frank. |
Looks like a beauty, congrats.
|
Ripster, how did you get that size pic to post??
Nice ride dude. |
What kind of "old motorcycle" could you turn into THAT ? :)

I liked my 123, but this car is a whole nother animal. So smooth, quiet, has power, great car. Frank. |
Nice choice. Better than a Suzuki-anything anyday! :D

Welcome back,

Nice
Nice looking ride. The silver looks real nice. Beautiful car, wish I could find a 300D in my area in the condition of your 300SD. It definately has the "cool" factor down. :D

Anyway, congrats on the new SD Frank! |
Pardon me for playing Devils Advocate, but as a diesel afficionado who is also a bike nut, I think you can have both. Don't write off bikes just because your Katana was a) ugly and/or b)uncomfortable. A Katana is sort of like a two wheeled version of a Nissan Sentra, and I would be embarassed to be seen on one. As Benchracer observes, the GSXR is a very nice ride. If you find motorcycles uncomfortable on your wrists, buy a set of HeliBarsand adjust them to your liking.
Aw Hell, this is Diesel Discussions, and you did score a very cool SD. |
Now if they just made a really good turbo charged diesel motorcycle.............
|
Aaakk...

Ahaaaaahhahhahahhahahahhaha! Pretty much my sentiments, Ducati. The Sentra has it all over the Katana aesthetically. It amazes me that Suzuki managed to build one of the all-time ugliest motorcycles and has also built one of the best-looking in the GSXR series since they debuted. Don't get me wrong, if the Katana was the only bike I owned, I'd ride it. But I'd be looking to trade it in quickly. BTW Ducati, Ever make it down to Laguna-Seca raceway for the Superbike weekend? That'd be a nice long trip on a Duc, a trip I'm sure a Diesel owner could enjoy, but even better on two wheels! |
