W123 What do you think is leaking (trans. fluid, with pics)
What do you think is leaking here? I think maybe that banjo bolt connection, or where the dipstick is connected. Or both. Opinions?

Looks more like the dipstick.
Which ultimately doesn't matter because you're going to want to remove the banjo anyway to replace the O-ring.

Actually, the possibility is high for a leak in one of the hard lines, forward of that area. The problem to look for is clamps where the rubber cushion has disintegrated and the clamp begins to wear the metal line. It will start out as a slight weeping and progress to a geyser.

Hard lines are ok, I checked.
Took the dipstick out. The o-ring seems ok i.e. not all flat or chewed up. I guess I will bend the tab that holds the dipstick slightly out and see if that helps seal it better?

Well, I worked on the flange of that dipstick last night. I tried to straighten it out and then file a straight edge on the mating surface because straightening it out still wouldn't make it perfect.
I then reassembled it with the o-ring and some rtv sealant on the flange. I felt that some sealant was needed; the leak was small, this just might make enough of a difference. Didn't fill it up, wanted to give the sealant enough time to set.

Well, I filled it up, and three days later, it's still not leaking!
I also had to straighten out the trans. oil pan, I'll post a separate thread about it. I am sure it used to leak, as warped as it was before...
