Unimogs are available new, ... outside of the US (were sold here a while back at Freightliner dealers). Weren't really considered a pickup truck, more of an agricultural machine that morphed into other industrial/commercial uses such as snow removal, airport tugs, rail-yard switchers, many more things that one would have imagined from its agricultural beginnings Applications

Ever heard the expression: " More money than sense " ? But hey, it's his money.

I's called " I drive a big truck so I can cut people off and they can't do anything about it. "

This is a lucrative market, where the US spends lots of money, I have three neighbors who commute in their "trucks", and they're all stickered over $75,000 with dual moonroofs, leather, power everything, and kept perfectly clean.

However, there are a lot of Merceded-badged Sprinters pulling up to businesses and houses every day and I doubt they're turned away.
I'm one of those folks however I opted for the lower trim XLT. No leather or moon roofs for me

In all seriousness if the new Honda Ridgeline had been on the market when I bought my F150 I would have taken a long look at it. Its more than enough truck for 90% of full size truck owners.

It is based on the Nissan Navara. What constitutes a "real truck" to you?

There is a Grand Tour (New Top Gear) episode where they flog 3 smaller pickups, the Mercedes being one of them. During there antics the sides of the bed were so flimsy that they bent and the tailgate would no longer latch.

Good.

It Mercedes actually tool their time I bet they could of sold a lot.

Really, all they had to do was make a boxy truck with a front end similar looking to a G Wagon and it would of sold like hot cakes. Shoot or just a beefier G Wagon chassis with most of the luxury stuff removed.

The jeep truck thing, sells very well and but it's actually very capable off road vehicle.

A real truck has to have 8' or longer bed. Has to be diesel, has to be 4by4 or duley

And has to be Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. At least until someone else steps up.

The bed on the Benz truck is literally like 4 feet.... The hippsters who'd buy it couldn't even fit their bike in it.
