Best Service Manual for '95 E300D

I'm in the process of gathering parts for the dreaded replacement of the glow plugs in my '95 E300D. Although I have experience working on other cars, I've no experience on Mercedes or with diesels. So I'm looking for a service manual--CD or printed--that offers the most complete info for maintenance activities, including usable pictures, that can guide a diesel newbie.

I tried an eBay vendor for what was described as a Mercedes service manual in HTML, but couldn't get the download to run on my relatively recent computer. I also tried an annual subscription to a repair manual service but found the instructions were minimal at best and did not include pictures.

I'd love to hear what owners of this model use to find their way around the car's mechanicals. Any suggestions or recommendations greatly appreciated.
