OM602 Turbo Oil Supply Line - Where does it connect?

Back in August of 2015 the turbo oil supply line on my 91 300-D had developed a hole or crack. I cleaned it and applied JB Weld (red arrow - below photo). That slowed the leak, but it's leaking again (yellow box - below photo) and the fix is replacement of the turbo oil supply line.

This weekend while installing new (Made in Germany ) Lemforder motor mounts I searched but was unable to locate where the steel line is connected to the engine. Did manage to see the support bolt / bracket - but not the end of the line.

Question #1: Where does this line connect (A photo would be great)?

Question #2: What is the thread on the end that connects to the engine?

Why the thread? Thoughts are to skip the dealer and pick-N-pull - going with a 3rd party after market kit that uses a braided flex line as shown in post #5 of this thread.

If you slide under the car rear of engine passengers side you can see where it connects to the oil supply. Not sure of the size though.

So it's connected to a line related to the oil filter vs screwed into the block?

No, it's nowhere near the oil filter. The line mates with an oil gallery port on the right side of the block, towards the rear. It has a flare fitting on the end that's probably around metric 14x1.5 (just a guess). There's a support clamp around the middle of the pipe that also screws into the block. It takes some contortion to reach the oil fitting and the support screw, but take it out and have it welded properly.

Just to add, the line fitting into the block uses a 19mm if I recall correctly, that's just the wrench size not the thread size. If there is any intent on reusing the line and if there is any rust or corrosion on the line or the fitting: apply penatrant and observe that the fitting rotates rather than it being corroded to the line and as a result twisting the line itself when moving the fitting.

And the "clamp" is actually a bracket that is welded on part of the line, it actually attaches to one of the support brackets for the turbo itself. That is a 10 mm bolt a fine toothed "Gear Wrench" type is the tool you want to unfasten that one as there is very little "swing room" for the wrench or ratchet handle.

Thanks to everyone for the information. Now I know where to look.

Is a "Gear Wrench" the same as a "Ratcheting Box Wrench"?

PS: Just did a quick search for a 'new' line (6021800627) - only $148. Holy highway robbery Batman

Yeah ratcheting Box Wrench is the generic term, more teeth the shorter the throw. It's not a big thing but it's in a cramped place so moving and re-positioning a regular wrench numerous times gets old.

Don't forget the gasket at the turbo connection

Thanks for confirming they are ratcheting boxes because there are 2 sets in my tool box. The gasket (602-187-05-80) was $10.94 last time I bought one in August 2015, can't wait to see what the 2016 price is.
