But good news: Jaguar is bringing Diesel XF's to the US this year. Some dealers already have inventory:

New 2017 Jaguar XF for sale in Paramus, NJ | Jaguar USA

2017 Jaguar XF Pricing & Specs | Jaguar USA

There's no other German diesel I'd rather own than an MB. Audis are just knockoff volkswagens, and volkswagens are what they are. adios!

Chevy is selling the Cruze with the 1.6L "whisper diesel" starting next year, and I think it will be a solid platform. It's got a timing chain and the speculation is that the fuel economy will be in the 50+ range.

Whisper diesel? That's what they called the OM60x engines. GM's 30 years behind the curve

It is a wagon with six speed manual and a most impressive glass roof.

We've eliminated a sizable fleet of 50mpg cars that emit slightly over the limit, but still less than the equivalent gasoline engines, use less fuel, and are typically some of the more reliable and longer driven cars on American roads, but we continue to allow 18mpg SUVs to populate the streets with no passengers.
Bravo.
