Still Having Passenger Side Mirror Issues and now...

So I am still on a quest to get my passenger side mirror to work - this is a motorized mirror for my 1981 300sd (w126). I found a replacement on eBay - guys said it worked and I went ahead and bought it.

In the mean time my passenger side window switch stopped working as well. The backseat right side and all the rest of the windows work no problem. However since I do tend to use the Europarts switches to save on cost I figured that it was just the switch that went out - so I ordered a replacement for that as well.

This past weekend I finally got around to swapping the mirror and the switch. I was super excited to finally have this checked off my box of w126 To-Dos! Swapped the mirror out no problem (I had mad sure I had the right version with the correct plug). I turned on the juice... UGH - Nothing! Not even an attempt to move the mirror. I was really irritated as I thought I had been duped...

So while I was working on that side of the car I went ahead and pulled out the switch for the window and replaced it with the new one. I turned the key again and guess what? The Window STILL would not work either!

So now I am stumped - could this be an electrical issue within that door? I swapped the fuse that controls that window unit as well - and still nothing?

Any thoughts? Vacuum issue? Electrical issue? The window did work for the last year and just stopped working one day (hence the reason I thought the switch went bad).

Thanks in advance!

Try applying power directly to the motor and see if it works.

Yes, for sure don't fault the seller until you try post #2.
You need a schematic and multimeter.
Do you measure voltage across the connector pins when you actuate the switch?
Do you measure continuity in the wires from switch to door?
The wiring goes thru a region that bends to get to the door and can thus break, though usually see that in driver's side door, unless you get more dates than most of us losers who mostly drive alone.

Thanks guys I guess next step is pulling the door apart and checking all of the wiring. Fun! Any links to a wiring schematic online? Definitely not faulting the guy that sold it - especially once I replaced the window switch to no effect. Interestingly the window switch does light up and controls the back window, just not the front passenger.

Good times!

Be sure you have the console switch plugged in correctly. On the 123/gen 1 126 the mirror switch is square and if the keying pin is broken off the switch can be plugged in the wrong way.
