left hand drive lights?
Bought a couple of hella (002395991) h4 bulbs on amazon to replace my stock sealed beams. Just installed and realized the beam pattern appears to be for RHD/ left side of the road driving -beams look like this: \___ \___
...anyone dealt with this before? Did you keep them or find something for LHD? |

If you have the wrong ones you'll want the right ones for safety.

Aside from being illegal in the US, you aren't illuminating signs on the right side of the road. I wouldn't use them.

Do they say "DOT" on them? Are they installed and aimed correctly?

They're e-code lights (ECE) and they're installed correctly.
Just appears that they were for the UK, India or Japan, all RHD countries. Those of you using e-code lights on your w123 -what brand are you using? If Hella, where did you find them? Ebay and Amazon are full of RHD lights which are useless... |

I would talk to Amazon and send them back, since the page for those says "Conforms to SAE/DOT standards for street and highway use," which can't be the case if they're ECE. There are 1-star reviews that complain about the same.

And, the low beam pattern is aiming towards oncoming traffic even though they might be "aimed and installed properly" at 25 ft.

E code lights are legal in the US on motorcycles.
