270CDi ML 2002MY a couple of wiring questions.

I've found an extra lead on my ML which is part of the loom connecting the Oil sensor . The three wires to the Sensor are OK but there is an extra lead ,1.5mm green with red tracer , It must have been connected to something but i cant see just what exactly . Someone has crimped one of those cheap crimp connectors onto the end. Anyone have any ideas where this lead should go on a 270CDi engine ?(OM 612 turbo ) In the pictures it's the one with the small end on it,the other is the oil sensor lead.

next question. I blew the trans (looks like a trust washer has come apart ,there were rollers stuck to the contact plate speed sensor) So i fitted a new trans (722.6) but for some reason the ECU isn't getting power,or so it appears. my hand held scanner tells me that and i only have limp home mode,2nd and reverse .
Anyone have any idea where there is a firewall plug or how i could determine if the power feed to the ECU is indeed broken . (the ECU has a feed out to the contact plate which supplies power to the solenoids .I've tried a different ECU but got a different set of fualts which appear to be in the 2nd unit. . Any suggestions appreciated.
