where can I get replacements for these nuts so they match all the other hardware.

Go to an industrial supply company such as Fastenal to get nylocs.

I also get a couple of standard nuts that I use to tighten the tie rod down to seat it and then remove them and install the nylocs and torque. Doing this helps prevent the tie rod from turning when trying to tighten a new nyloc. They used to put a hex hole in the tie rod so you could hold it with an allen wrench but I haven't seen this for a while.

Watch out for thread pitch. I've found that rod ends which faced other directions, other than up, sometimes had an extra fine thread count. A thread pitch gauge comes in handy.

If it's a tie rod, make sure you get the proper hand- tie rods and their ends are a left hand/right hand set.

The metallic nuts are distorted...they lock because the holes aren't exactly circular, and so they can be reused. Nylocs are intended to be used once, as the nylon inserts will fret against the bolt as they are removed. You can find grade 8 nylocs in any hardware store, bring the old ones along to verify the sizes.

Agree about any hardware store carrying them. Even if you're someone who has to have the MD star on every component, Lemforder/Mercedes likely got the nuts from the same source as the hardware store.

BTW, you can get a metric thread gauge for $1 shipped on eBay and it'll pay for itself the first time you use it.

I believe we're talking about the nuts that hold the tie rod to the steering knuckle, which are all normal thread.
