Gen 1 300SD lowering

Now that I have my euro bumpers, the car sits way too high. Does anyone have experience with using springs from a different model to lower the ride height? Not talking lowrider here, just what I consider normal.

Spring pads with fewer bumps? 280S or 280SE springs?

You get some lowering with a spring pad that has fewer nubs. It may not make much difference because the old pads are compressed. I remember measuring the difference between new 2-nib and old 4-nib for either the 84 or 85 SD and it wasn't much.

I also remember that it doesn't change suspension geometry but research to confirm.
