CDI inspector wanted in Wexford PA - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

There is an '05 CDI in Wexford PA for sale that I would like someone to look at for me. It only has 70XXX miles on it. I imagine there will be no sign of the "Black Death", but it would not hurt to remove the engine cover to have a look anyway. I would be happy to pay someone for their time and effort. Having a third party inspector, and especially someone from this community (Dieselhead) inspect the car, would be of great value to me. I have been looking for a blue one from the start, and maybe this is the one. I am concerned about rust. This car is right in the middle of the rust belt, so it will need a very close inspection. Worst case (for me) is that I bow out, and someone here buys it. Either way, it is worth a look at this one. PM me if this is something you can do. Thanks, Rich

That would be a 2 hour+ drive for me so a little difficult.

Looks like it has the fold down rear seats.....

Rollguy already bought it, unseen in person. But, he smartly had them take photos under the engine cover which showed "black death" and greatly lowered the price. He has another thread going on the repairs, and is getting happy with his new purchase. I suspect happiness will be greatly tied to the price of new parts, which can be unpleasantly surprising for newish Euro cars.

I wish! No I did not buy this car (yet). I already have one, but not my first choice for color combo. If I find the right color combo in a car, and can make a deal on it, I will sell the one I have to get the one I really want. I am happy to have gotten the first one, and not at all sorry I didn't wait for the right one to come along. This is a wonderful learning experience for me. For now, I am enjoying this car immensely!
