'84D Tranny... 2nd to 3rd flare
I just drug another one home... '84D (211K) ...and, the 2nd to 3rd flare is there. All other shifts up and down are good.
Modulator is holding vacuum... and it's receiving 14Hg. Vacuum bleeds down properly with throttle. I'll check the VCV tomorrow and if I have the time I'll drain the tranny & torque converter (no flush) and change the tranny filter. I haven't dealt with a tranny issue in a while and my terminology may be a bit faulty here... but, I have brand *new* original MB K1, K2 and B something piston(s) spring(s) etc. sitting in the shed. Questions... (1) which of these parts would affect 2nd to 3rd upshift and (2) which ones can be replaced while changing the tranny filter??? Thanks!!!! dennis --- better update my sig... '84D *NEW* NOT Wrecked...

The K1 accumulator spring can be replaced during a fluid change, the only special tool required is an offset screwdriver. Sometimes causes shift flares 2-3.
