Euro lights installed, couple questions

Just installed a set of "high spec" euro lights on my 300cd.

These are the ones without vacuum control.

I noticed that the top adjustment knob also has a toggle switch which raises and lowers the beam.

I am assuming that this has the same functionality as the vacuum control which allows lowering the beam if there is weight in the trunk.

So these should by default be set at the high point?

Also, noticed that the driver side light has the sharp cutoff line, but the passenger side looks more like a blob. No cutoff line on the passenger side.

Any chance this is normal?

Amazing how the rectangular euro lights can completely change the look of the car.

I almost prefer the round euros, but I think these are more proper for this chassis.

Check for a Bosch part number on the lens. Possibly the passenger side lens has been replaced with a non-Bosch aftermarket replacement.

As I understand it, the lenses for RHD and LHD cars are distinctly different. My Depos have LHD clearly marked on the lenses. Any chance yours might have been changed or incorrect?

I believe the drivers side has a sharp cut off so you don't blind the oncoming driver. The passenger side lens has no need for such. I think this is the OEM design ( I could be proven wrong...)

I have seen pictures of the light pattern for euro lenses on google search

one picture shows two distinct cutoffs
one picture shows one cutoff, and one blob

wondering if this changed over production.

I assume that having the toggle for beam adjustment possibly makes these older versions, with the newer versions having the vacuum adjustment instead of the toggle.

What is the condition of the reflectors given that these are used lights? Are the bulbs correct H4 and installed correctly? Lens in good condition with no cracks, and is correct for LHD traffic?

Is the lens installed correctly (all clips intact)?

That's what they look like.

Some road rash on the glass.

I will change out the bulbs and see what happens.

I haven't changed the bulbs that were already in there.

Solved.

Bulbs were not seated fully.

Being a dumb ass, I was trying to mount the bulb onto the electrical socket with the spring.

After scratching my head for a while I realized that the bulb goes into the reflector housing and then the plug/socket is placed and rotated into locked position.

I feel like an idiot
But the lights are now working as they should.

Couldn't be happier
