190d injection pump shut off lever
Hello All,
I made the mistake of backing off the retaining nut for the fuel shut off lever, to the point where I cannot replace the shaft of this lever back into the pump to do its job as intended. Turning off my ignition does not shut off the engine, and this lever does not operate to stop fuel supply. Does someone know the procedure for replacing this shaft? Any help is appreciated!! thanks |

Did you just remove the outter most nut to remove the stop leaver or did you also remove the inner nut also? I wouldn't be starting it until we figure this out. A picture would be helpful.

I removed the hollow, outer nut which holds the shaft indexed into the pump.
I found an old post from MercedesForum suggesting to remove the intake manifold to gain access to the pump. Then remove the ALDA and the shutoff actuator, to view inside the top of the pump. The prongs on the end of the shaft operate on this actuator and it should be easy to see how to replace it. Wish me luck and I will post my attempt. Thanks! |

Good luck! Also remember to have a method to starve the engine of air, (shut off engine) should you get a run away condition.
