w123 low beams & fogs stopped working at same time

low beams & fogs stopped working on my w123. turn signals work. brights flash but will not stay on when the stalk is pushed toward the windshield. headlights are the original sealed beams.

I replaced all the fuses less than a year ago. I had some random spares that came with the car and put those in to 11 & 13 with no success. I spun all the fuses.

I bought a new headlight, no success. I tried sanding one of the headlights prongs and sockets with no success.

I bought an alt. brand combo switch thinking that it might be the problem. I put it in today with no luck. Stalk pushed toward windshield still doesn't turn high beams on. Only flash works.

I have not bought a meter yet to check the voltages. And I have not yet replaced all the fuses again. Research suggests that's what I should have done at the start.

I am a super novice mechanically & electrically. please advise.
