w123 300TD removing second row seat backs?

I'm swapping out the second row seat backs in my w123 wagon for seat backs with head rests. It looks like suggested way to remove them is via the large screws in the brackets (as suggested in the pelican parts tutorial). I've been working on these screws with an impact screw driver for a while without any luck. Does anyone have any tips for breaking these free? Or another way I should be removing the seat backs?

I have been able to remove those screws before with an impact driver, but I remember it not being pleasant and that was with the seat backs out of the car. I have had good luck unbolting the entire seat back assemblies from the floor. They are a little tricky to get back in with the spring loaded pieces for the latch mechanism and it may require removing the wheel hump covers, but it is doable for sure.

I resolved this by using the attachments from my impact screwdriver and putting the large phillips head on a breaker bar. The screws are big and deep enough that, going slowly, I was able to turn them out without stripping the screws.

I had to use the breaker bar for almost the entire length of the threads, whatever locking substance they used in the factory for these bolts was quite strong.

I suspect it was this stuff:

You might have some luck tightening them a bit and then trying to loosen. Just a general tip, not wagon seat specific.

I had to do some digging but I was able to find actual archival photo of a Mercedes factory work getting ready to apply torque to these seat bolts:
