no kick down capability

changed my kick down switch under the throttle pedal and still have no kickdown capability.

would it be fair to say that the solenoid is bad?

or is there other culprits possible in this scenario?

Klima relay, believe it or not. But suspect the work you've just done before going further.

Then it could be the switch, the wiring or the solenoid. What I would suggest is to pull the connector out of the back of the solenoid. Be careful, because it's an odd connector and the part number is elusive. Put a voltmeter between the wire and any good ground, and have someone turn the key on and step on the accelerator. If you detect power at the solenoid connection, it's the solenoid. Otherwise, it's further back in the circuit.

Obvious question, but did you make sure the pedal goes down far enough to activate the switch? I had that problem with mine. I verified the switch worked by clicking it with my left foot and it downshifted. Then I only had to adjust the pedal travel.

I have tried the left foot trick and didn't get a downshift.
