Looking at 2005 E320 CDI

Hi,

I am looking at a 2005 E320 CDI. It needs the injectors rebuilt. Who on the forum can do that? Also need estimate on pricing.

Car has 300K plus and a new turbo was installed.

Tangofox rebuilt the ones in my OM617.952 a few years ago. Did a fantastic job.

Also is this the OM606 engine?

Thanks!

New injectors for that application are above the $600 mark from what I have heard.

It's the OM648.

Injectors on these engines are a whole different animal. I sure hope you're getting a great deal for those kind of miles and bad injectors.

I don't think they can be "rebuilt". They squeeze out five injection events per power stroke at some 15K psi. How did you come to the conclusion that injectors are "the" issue? What are the symptoms?

It is the shop that has the car that came up with that conclusion. I will ask them.

Two injectors fail the spray test. It has a new turbo and intercooler. I can get this car for around $5000. I am friends with the shop owner.

Given the high miles and the fact that it needs two injectors, the price sounds too high.

Agreed. You can add another grand, and have a bunch to choose from with 200K+, but not needing anything major.

CDI Injectors

Parts (AND you Tube Videos ) are available for repair.

Neither the Parts Nor the Systema for repair are going to "Fall out Of the Sky"
and into your lap... THIS will take some expertise and effort!

Note: Domestic (North America and Canadian) Stealers have NO Idea what
to do with these injectors.

Also Bosch Service Persons @ an authorized service center are clueless too.

If you can find Bosch Service It WILL BE HORRENDOUSLY EXPENSIVE.
(99.9999 % of service stations DID NOT BUY THE NECESSARY TOOLS/
MACHINES required for this!)
They (The Unable To) will sub it out and charge you out the Exhaust!!!

SEE: our "Friends" Down Under.

I think Goran Lundgren (Dieselmenken) can do CDI injectors, but you would have to ship to Sweden.

I am betting you can get a much better example without major issues for $5000. Injectors are a big deal on the CDIs. I think new ones have to be programed into ECU.
