removing A/C hoses from expansion valve; can it be done without taking battery out?
I'm removing/replacing all the A/C hoses on the 1984 300DT. I loosened the nuts that hold the hoses to the expansion valve. Question; does the battery have to be removed in order to pull the hoses through the firewall?

Those hoses were harder to pull through the grommet than I expected. You will definitely want to remove the battery and tray. Then fix the rust you find underneath...
