1986 and up Bendix caliper rebuild Kit?

I've looked all over and can't find one for my 300SDL.
Is my only choice to swap calipers such as ATE or Genuine Mercedes? That's way too much money for something that could just use a rebuild.

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

And they are priced from $8 to $111 for exactly the same parts? I do not get it.

Where?

I literally don't see any BENDIX caliper rebuild kits. If you can physically screen shot a BENDIX Caliper Rebuild kit I'll believe you.

I'm serious right now because my rotors are ravaged.

I seriously don't think anyone carries them.

My guess is that these fit both Bendix and ATE. Why not give Pelican a call and ask them?

Folks rebuild them all the time; look at the large number of threads.

Well, in this thread, it shows rebuild parts cannot be mismatched to different calipers right?

This thread never left my mind. And still raises questions today with fitment

Just call Pelican. Then you will know.

I know that thread; it is one of probably several hundred and I do not remember anyone else bringing up this problem.

I have an '81 300SD and I bought new calipers from Pep Boys; not expensive at all. Not sure for yours. Took maybe thirty minutes to install per wheel.

I found a brand called Centric that claims their caliper repair kit fits ATE/Bendix calipers for the 86-91 W126 chassis.
Part number is 143.35011 for Hard Boot
Part number is 143.35012 for Soft Boot

Only caveat is that it apparently fits both ATE and Bendix and not just a single brand.
But since I have been scouring the internet for a couple hours.....this is the ONLY repair kit I could find that claims it has Bendix compatibility. I feel like I might as well give it a shot.

My question is what is the difference between the Soft and Hard Boot? What would an 86' 300SDL have? How can I check?

The tunnel to a front brake overhaul is beginning to see the light.

You can look up the part Centric part number and search with that.
https://centricparts.centriccatalog.com/EcatMain.aspx?id=ANR&uid=ANR&sid=0

When I look at that attched pic on the list it has bendix caliper kit with hard or soft boots. Has anyone encountered one with hard boots?
