OM617A Oil pan plug thread size
Is the drain plug on the oil pan of a OM617A on an 84 300D a M12X1.5 size thread? I bought a temp sending unit and its really tight going in on my old pan. Like gets stuck on the first thread.

I am sure that is somewhere in the archives...
which may be faster ...and better discussed ... than waiting for someone to arrive here with that knowledge.. Do you have a set of thread gauges... so you know what size the sending unit is for sure?

I couldn't exactly say, I think om60x drain plugs are m14-1.5
But either way it is safe to chase anything made in China or at least test it on a sacrificial nut...

It's M12 X 1.5 My first threads were worn, it fits perfectly on the good threading on the inside.
